PETER HOARE, OWNER
Pete Hoare is a lifelong dog lover who has dedicated his life to animal welfare and care. As co-founder of the highly successful dog rescue Sweet Paws, Pete has fostered over 200 dogs on his farm, personally providing them with the care while waiting for their forever homes. His commitment runs so deep that he has adopted several rescues himself—Pete currently shares his home with four beloved dogs: Boomer, Mike, Nash, and Bobby.
Having dedicated his life to dogs full time, calling Pete a dog lover would be a significant understatement. One of his greatest joys comes from witnessing the pure happiness dogs experience when they get the "zoomies"—those crazy and whacky expressions of unbridled joy as they run through the meadows for the first time.
In 2017, Pete opened his home to more by building the barn that would become BarnDog Day Camp. His vision was simple: to create a space where dogs could experience the same joy, freedom, and expert care that so many rescues had found on his farm.
Pete also serves his community as a newly appointed member of the Essex Board of Health and as a volunteer EMT with the Essex Fire Department, bringing his healthcare expertise and emergency response skills to both his community service and his exceptional care of dogs at Barn Dog Day Camp.
